FOR INDIVIDUAL PATENT ATTORNEYS & AGENTS
Stay in control of patent figures — without vendor lag
A standardized Microsoft Visio-based workflow (training + templates + support) that lets you create and revise figures from intake through filing and amendments — without CAD or drafting overhead.
💡 Cloud Workspace available for Mac, iPad, and locked-down environments (browser-based access).

What Is the IP DaVinci System?
I built the IP DaVinci Patent Drawing System™ to give solo patent attorneys and agents a standardized, low-learning-curve way to create, revise, and review patent-ready drawings in Microsoft Visio — without relying on slow redraw cycles or constant vendor coordination.
After 30+ years in the patent drawing ecosystem, I saw the same pattern everywhere: solo patent professionals depend on figures daily, but don’t have a standardized internal drawing workflow. That leads to slow figure prep, revision delays, clarification cycles, redraws, and unnecessary vendor dependence — especially when the change is routine but time-sensitive.
IP DaVinci solves this at the system level by combining:
- Role-based Training (so non-drafters become productive fast)
- Toolkit Templates + Stencils (so standards are enforced and drawing work is faster)
- DaVinci Cloud Workspace (Windows + Visio in the browser for Mac/locked-down IT)
- Studio Services (outsourcing for complex, time-sensitive, or overflow work)
The result is faster turnaround, greater control over figure changes during prosecution, and reduced drafting spend — because you can handle routine figure work directly in the editable Visio source file, while using Studio support only when it truly adds value.
Training (Starter Package)
Structured, role-based training that teaches the essential Visio skills, patent drawing standards, and figure-specific drawing techniques needed to produce patent-ready drawings within a standardized system.
Toolkit (Starter Package)
Visio templates and stencils that enforce patent-ready standards while accelerating figure creation and keeping drawings consistent and editable across matters.
Maintenance & Support (Annual)
Optional annual plan that keeps the Toolkit current, provides drawing/system support, and includes Studio credits.
DaVinci Cloud Workspace (Optional)
Managed Windows + Visio in the browser when local installs aren’t practical (Mac, iPad, Linux, locked-down environments).
Studio (Optional)
Expert drawings for complex or time-sensitive cases — fully compatible with the same system.
What solo practitioners achieve with one shared system
Clarity first. Speed follows.
Get hours back every week
Cut the figure coordination time drain during intake, drafting, and office actions.
- Fewer back-and-forth clarification cycles
- Routine revisions completed same-day
- Less time chasing drawings or correcting formatting
Reduce vendor spend without sacrificing quality
Handle routine figure work in-house and outsource only when it truly adds value.
- Routine diagram-style sheets done internally
- Vendors used for complex or high-volume drawing packages
- Lower cost per application and per amendment
Stay in control during prosecution
When drawings stay editable, you can update them as claims evolve — without rebuilds.
- Faster OA amendments and renumbering
- Figures reused across continuations
- More predictable prosecution timelines
Collaborate with inventors without tool chaos
Standardize figure inputs from inventors while keeping everything in one system.
- Cleaner intake drawings and invention visuals
- Fewer redraws caused by misinterpretation
- More professional, consistent client experience
Where individual practitioners use the system
From first call to final filing.
Invention Intake
Capture and refine figures live during client calls, reducing ambiguity early instead of paying for it later.
Initial Drafting
Start with clean, structured, editable figures that support claims instead of reconstructing rough sketches.
Amendments & Office Actions
Revise figures directly in the same file — no waiting on vendors for routine changes.
Client Collaboration
Review figures with inventors in real time, improving clarity and reducing explanation time.
SYSTEM ADOPTION
The Default Adoption Path
Start with the system. Add support or services only when needed.
The IP DaVinci System Adoption Path:
- Start with the Starter Package, which includes Training and the Toolkit.
- Keep Maintenance & Support active annually to receive Toolkit updates, system support, and Studio credits.
- Add Cloud Workspace only when local installs aren’t practical (Mac, iPad, Linux, locked-down IT).
- Use Studio only when you want drawings done for you.
Start with the Starter Package
Everything you need to adopt the system and produce patent drawings yourself.
- ✔ Training to learn the workflow.
- ✔ Toolkit with templates and stencils.
- ✔ One-time purchase. You keep what you receive.
Add Maintenance & Support
Optional annual plan for active production use.
- ✔ Toolkit updates and refinements.
- ✔ Drawing and system support.
- ✔ Studio credits included.
Add Cloud Workspace when installs aren’t practical
Run Windows + Visio in the browser for mixed-device or locked-down environments.
- ✔ Ideal for Mac, iPad, Linux, and restricted IT setups.
- ✔ Keeps the same system and file compatibility.
Use Studio when you want drawings done for you
Delegate complex, high-volume, or time-sensitive work.
- ✔ Uses the same system.
- ✔ No redraw or compatibility issues.
Why this matters: You only pay for what you actually need. Own the system outright, keep it current when you’re actively using it, and delegate only when it makes sense.
How solo practitioners typically adopt IP DaVinci
Start with the Starter Package
Get trained on the workflow and deploy the Toolkit so routine figures become fast, consistent, and editable.
Keep the system current (optional)
Add Maintenance & Support for toolkit updates and help on edge cases as they come up.
Delegate selectively (optional)
Handle routine figures yourself and use Studio only for complex or time-sensitive work.
Stay in full control
Revise figures instantly during drafting and prosecution — without vendor delays for routine changes.
Used by individual practitioners
“I stopped waiting on vendors just to make small figure changes.”
— Solo Patent Attorney
“Being able to revise figures myself during amendments saved me days.”
— Independent Patent Agent
“The workflow made figures predictable instead of fragile.”
