FOR IP LAW FIRM LEADERSHIP
One drawing system for your firm and your clients
A complete Microsoft Visio-based patent drawing system for firms and clients — productive in hours, not weeks. Designed for non-drafters.
💡 Cloud Workspace available for Mac, iPad, and locked-down environments.

What Is the IP DaVinci System?
I built the IP DaVinci Patent Drawing System™ to give law firms a standardized, low-learning-curve way to create, revise, and review patent-ready drawings in Microsoft Visio.
After 30+ years in the patent drawing ecosystem, I saw the same pattern across teams: attorneys, paralegals, and inventors aren’t trained in patent drawing workflows or tools. That leads to slow figure prep, revision delays, clarification cycles, redraws, and unnecessary vendor dependence.
IP DaVinci solves this at the system level by combining:
- Role-based Training (so non-drafters become productive fast)
- Toolkit Templates + Stencils (so standards are enforced and drawing work is faster)
- DaVinci Cloud Workspace (Windows + Visio in the browser for Mac/locked-down IT)
- Studio Services (outsourcing for complex, time-sensitive, or overflow work)
The system is modular and role-based: attorneys, paralegals, and inventors adopt it at different levels. It is designed for non-drafters and requires no prior drafting or software background.
The result is faster figure turnaround, higher consistency, lower external drafting cost, and reclaimed internal hours — because each role can handle the part of figure work they should, while everyone collaborates in the same editable Visio source file instead of passing redlines and redoing drawings.
Training (Starter Package)
Structured, role-based training that teaches the essential Visio skills, patent drawing standards, and figure-specific drawing techniques needed to produce patent-ready drawings within a standardized system.
Toolkit (Starter Package)
Visio templates and stencils that enforce patent-ready standards while accelerating figure creation and keeping drawings consistent and editable across matters.
Maintenance & Support (Annual)
Optional annual plan that keeps the Toolkit current, provides drawing/system support, and includes Studio credits.
DaVinci Cloud Workspace (Optional)
Managed Windows + Visio in the browser when local installs aren’t practical (Mac, iPad, Linux, locked-down environments).
Studio (Optional)
Expert drawings for complex or time-sensitive cases — fully compatible with the same system.
What law firms achieve with one shared system
Consistency first. Speed follows.
Reclaim practitioner and staff hours
Live visual iteration eliminates clarification loops after intake and during prosecution.
- Collaborative intake instead of interpretive redraws
- Routine revisions completed in minutes
- Less attorney time spent correcting figures
Reduce vendor and redraw spend
Handle routine figures in-house and use vendors only where they add value.
- Majority of routine sheets produced internally
- Vendors finalize instead of recreate
- Lower per-application drawing spend
Produce revision-ready figures
When drawings remain editable, they evolve with claims instead of being rebuilt.
- Cleaner amendments and office-action responses
- Figures reused across continuations
- More predictable prosecution timelines
Enable firm-controlled inventor collaboration
Extend the firm’s drawing environment to inventors and client teams when appropriate — preserving standards while reducing back-and-forth.
- Inventors can clarify and annotate figures without tool chaos
- Fewer redraw cycles caused by misinterpretation
- Higher perceived value and smoother client experience
Illustrative example based on ~100 applications/year. Scales with caseload and staffing model.

SYSTEM ADOPTION
The Default Adoption Path
Start with the system. Add support or services only when needed.
The IP DaVinci System Adoption Path:
- Start with the Starter Package, which includes Training and the Toolkit.
- Keep Maintenance & Support active annually to receive Toolkit updates, system support, and Studio credits.
- Add Cloud Workspace only when local installs aren’t practical (Mac, iPad, Linux, locked-down IT).
- Use Studio only when you want drawings done for you.
Start with the Starter Package
Everything you need to adopt the system and produce patent drawings yourself.
- ✔ Training to learn the workflow.
- ✔ Toolkit with templates and stencils.
- ✔ One-time purchase. You keep what you receive.
Add Maintenance & Support
Optional annual plan for active production use.
- ✔ Toolkit updates and refinements.
- ✔ Drawing and system support.
- ✔ Studio credits included.
Add Cloud Workspace when installs aren’t practical
Run Windows + Visio in the browser for mixed-device or locked-down environments.
- ✔ Ideal for Mac, iPad, Linux, and restricted IT setups.
- ✔ Keeps the same system and file compatibility.
Use Studio when you want drawings done for you
Delegate complex, high-volume, or time-sensitive work.
- ✔ Uses the same system.
- ✔ No redraw or compatibility issues.
Why this matters: You only pay for what you actually need. Own the system outright, keep it current when you’re actively using it, and delegate only when it makes sense.
Implementation Model
Pilot
